MRIDANGAMELA           

Mridangamela  "mridangam symphony" is the result of the innovative mind aesthetic sense in the mastro korambu subramaninan Nambootiri.Sri korambu subramaninan namboothiri  is the disciple of pazhni subramanian pillai and is an exponent of the pudukootai school  of mridangam

The style adopted in mridanga mela is a modern one merging the methods of musicalinstruments in Kerala as well as those of Hindustani in a European way. This speciality enables both the lovers of classical music and ordinary people, especially woman and children. feel that mridangamela is an ardent experience.The programme normally last for one and a half hours.

This  programme is unique because it is composed by using a single type of instrument that is mridangam and all the rhythm and symphony are created by playing the drums collectively.
The programme is again unique because this is being performed solely by a group of children aged below 17 years.

The programme is now being directed and conducted by sri Vikraman Nambootiri son and disciple of subramaninan Nambootiri.He is running a registered institution to teach mridangam lessons by name "Korambu Mridanga Kalari"Mridangamela  "mridangam symphony" is the result of the innovative mind aesthetic sense in the mastro korambu subramaninan Nambootiri.Sri korambu subramaninan namboothiri  is the disciple of pazhni subramanian pillai and is an exponent of the pudukootai school  of mridangam.
